"I liked the "deep diving" the best."

Reef's End Lodge
Activities

divingReef's End Lodge is prepared to offer some of the best diving in the Caribbean, since it sit on the Main Barrier Reef most of our dives are no more than 5 minutes away, with an average depth of 70'; we offer wall dives, dives in the Blue hole, shark dives, we do all three atolls, and are one of two island dive shops registered for time slots to dive at Gladden Spit with the whale sharks.

The dives near the caye takes you along a small drop from 50' to about 80' where a sloping wall covered with coral, creates many hideaways to investigate for crabs, lobster, octopus, eels, this list goes on. Encounters with turtles and eagle rays are common but occasionally we get treated with foreigners like the whale shark, or manta.

Fishing

Fishing can be so much fun of Tobacco Caye that most nights there's someone fishing off the pier and they can catch anything, Tarpon, Crevalle Jacks and Snappers tend to be the most common caught; the fun doesn't stop here, daytime fishing by trolling or fly-fishing can be awesome; the school of Tarpon 200 yds from our dining room has members that weigh over 200lbs; we specialize in finding Permit and Bonefish less than ½ hr away; Trolling and hooking into an African Pompano can be quite a thrill, or just the common barracuda that jumps like a hooked tarpon.

beachIt's so easy to snorkel here that many people who have always been afraid of the water have learned to snorkel here, put just a mask on and put your head in the water and you'll be amazed at the colorful little fish that are just waiting for you to lift your feet to see what you've uncovered for them! On of our previous guest counted over 113 different specie of fish just snorkeling off the beach here and most times the water has over 100' visibility!!

Guests are free to walk the island and enjoy the beach and find themselves a desirable swimming location. Swim all day in the clear water and watch the fish dart by your feet. If you like, simply kick back and relax in one of the hammocks on the island, under the shade of a coconut tree. Read a book, take in the scenery, or simply sleep your worries away. Inland activities can be arranged for guests to tour Mayan ruins and the Jaguar Reserve.

"A fantastic fishing and snorkeling PARADISE!"
