"Wonderful, restful piece of paradise"

Reef's End Lodge
Location

Tobacco CayeTobacco Caye is only a half hour boat ride from Dangriga Town. When approaching your destination, the caye reveals itself from behind the Tobacco Caye Range. Our palm-fringed coral island is covered with sandy beaches and does not support mangrove vegetation, eliminating sandflies (no-see-ums) and mosquitoes. Unveiling its swaying coconut trees and clear waters, Tobacco Caye is a clear invitation to visitors to relax and have a great time. Reef's End Lodge is a favorite destination for budget-minded travellers.

The beach is white and sandy with bits of coral and the waters calm and clear. Visitors share the beach and water with a few pelicans that fly in search of fish. It is no surprise to see them perched on the end of a pier or bobbing in the water waiting for their meal. Sea gulls are also popular, hovering in the air just out of arms distance, waiting to see what the local fishermen have brought in, ready to dive for what scraps are thrown away.

RestaurantOver the sea stands a structure that acts as an indoor dining room, and outdoor bar and deck. While lounging around on the deck, you can see a panoramic view of Tobacco Caye Range and the Reef. Below different types of colorful fish swim around looking for scraps to feed on while further out, towards the reef, you may catch a glimpse of passing manatees and dolphins. In the evenings spotted eagle rays are among the regular visitors below the deck.

The east side of the island has the barrier reef as a back drop and is a mere stone's throw from the island. This section of the Belizean Barrier reef offers some of the best SCUBA diving you can get in the Caribbean.

The Belizeans on the island welcome you with warm smiles and unmatched hospitality, always willing to make your stay as comfortable and fulfilling as possible. Their knowledge of the caye and surrounding areas is vast and their stories of fishing, full of excitement and awe.

The length and breadth of Tobacco Caye can be walked in about 5 to 10 minutes but the memories of your time there will last a life time.
